We love Margate with its quirky seaside and its art gallery - another great lab day out in Margate!Great news: the lab was awarded two Innovate UK collaborative grants. We will support HerLab to develop novel fungal protein expression platforms.
The lab had a great time attending the Candida Meeting in Montreal. Alessia presented our unpublished work on the discovery of RNAi in Candida albicans, Elise gave a flash talk on RNAi and Samuel presented a poster on his work on Candida albicans R loops
Thomas has joined the lab as a Research Technician. Thomas will work in collaboration with our wonderful industrial partner Nutri-San to explore whether and how seaweed species impact fungal growth. We are looking forward to the outcome of this project!
Our paper exploring the role of Ulp2 in regulating C. albicans genome stability has been published in PLOS Genetics. This was a project initiated by Marzia and finalised by the whole group after Marzia left the lab! A great collaboration with Jordan (former postdoc of the lab) and Anna Selmecki's lab
The 2022 KFG lab Olympics : second place for our lab!Alessia has been promoted to Professor! This would have not been possible without the amazing people in the lab, collaborators across the world and fantastic mentorsWe are very happy to announce that the lab has been awarded a BIV from BBSRC to start a new collaboration with the biotech Nutri-San Limited – Harnessing the Nutritional Power of Seaweed
